PORT DENISON MARINA

Public BBQ

Port Denison Marina operates as a volunteer-run facility where calm waters inside the breakwall suit stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking beneath Norfolk Island pines offering substantial shade. Charter operations like Ocean Addiction run personalised crayfishing tours with shared catches, whilst commercial fishing boats and recreational vessels share the anchorage. The Shire maintains well-watered lawns and multiple covered shelter areas with tables and chairs, supported by clean toilet facilities and abundant parking. The marina suffered cyclone damage but reconstruction efforts continue toward restoring full anchorage capacity. Crystal-clear water and friendly locals stopping for conversation create a relaxed atmosphere for visitors setting up chairs to watch boat activity. Limited additional attractions keep it functioning primarily as a pleasant waypoint between coastal destinations, though the combination of fishing access, water clarity, and grassed picnic areas under established trees provides adequate reason to stop along the Geraldton route.
